Description
A lightweight, dual-suspension pin system designed to combine suction suspension comfort with pin suspension security. The airtight seal prevents air from coming into the bottom of the socket, creating suction and reducing pistoning even without a sleeve!
What Creates the Suction?
The pin attaching the liner firmly into the distal end of the airtight lock and socket holds the residual limb in place. From the pin holding stable at the bottom of the socket the only place for trapped air to go is out the top of the socket. As the fleshy part of the limb moves and takes up more space this creates pressure pushing more air out, creating negative pressure or suction in the lower part of the socket holding the limb more firmly in place over a larger area and helping to eliminate pistoning.
