The Mitchell Ponseti® AFO PFS - Plantar Flexion Stop is recommended for patients with a more complex PEVA - clubfoot. The special design limits plantar flexion more effectively and maintains the desired position of the foot. AFO PFS is also great for children with hyper-flexible feet as it ensures that the foot is always kept in a neutral or dorsiflexed position. The patented Mitchell Ponseti® system consists of a sandal-like AFO that attaches to the adjustable splint, with built-in dorsiflexion. All in accordance with Ponseti's standard protocol. The AFO is specially designed to avoid chafing and blisters on the child's foot. It has a hard sole with a quick release that provides easy handling for the parent. A soft elastomer lining for extra comfort and compliance. The upper part and straps are made of soft synthetic leather. The location of the heel can easily be seen through the two holes on the back of the AFO. An important part is to get a perfect fit and optimal comfort.
