Mitchell Ponseti® AFO TS - Toe Stilt is an ankle foot orthosis for use in PEVA - Clubfoot correction according to established standard treatment - the Ponseti method. The patented Mitchell Ponseti® system consists of a sandal-like AFO that attaches to the adjustable splint, with built-in dorsiflexion. All in accordance with Ponseti's standard protocol. The AFO TS can also be used for short periods without a splint to help the patient maintain good dorsiflexion, which is done by stretching the Achilles tendon and helping to keep the foot flexible. This is achieved through the design where the front part of the sole is raised. The Mitchell Ponseti® AFO TS keeps the foot in a dorsiflexed position of 10 degrees. The patient needs to be walking for the Toe Stilt AFO to have any effect without the use of the splint. The AFO is specially designed to avoid chafing and blisters on the child's foot. It has a hard sole with quick attachment to the abduction rail and provides easy handling for the parent. A soft elastomer lining for extra comfort and compliance. The upper part and straps are made of soft synthetic leather. The location of the heel can easily be seen through the two holes on the back of the AFO. An important part is to get a perfect fit and optimal comfort. The Mitchell Ponseti® AFO TS is only available in gray and is sold as a single shoe. If you need a pair, order one right and one left.
