Description
Xtern Frontier is a brand new drop foot orthosis developed and designed for patients with reduced hand and finger motor skills, such as stroke patients. It is based on the same unique feature as the Xtern Classic and Summit, but with a front jumper. The design makes the orthosis significantly easier to take on and off, which makes it easier for patients with motor weaknesses. The Xtern Frontier comes with magnetic buckles adapted for a one-handed grip.
The orthosis is applied to the outside of the shoe and thus does not come into contact with the foot. This means that the user avoids possible pressure and chafing. With the help of clips that are easily attached to the lace piece on the shoe, the orthosis can be easily moved to different shoes. The orthosis comes pre-tensioned and provides a lift that suits most patients. Tension and lift can be adjusted individually if necessary. For the active patient, Xtern is especially suitable as it is extremely durable and works in most activities and movements.
Using the evaluation orthosis AT-Tool, Xtern orthoses can be easily tested on the patient to first ensure function and needs, before the orthosis is ordered and assembled for the individual patient.
